Thomas Jefferson's will provisioned the release/manumission of all his slaves upon his death. The executor of the will was Polish and American hero, Thad Kosciuszko. However, someone popped up to dispute the will, and it ultimately took more than 30 years to reach the SCOTUS. By that time, it was too late.

By "too late", I mean that if the slaves have been manumitted, it would have been a HUGE national story. I argue that it could have changed the course of American slavery, with the possible aversion of the Civil War - the most prominent living Virginian planter freeing his slaves.

it's objectively much worse, but it's much worse in such a nice way

Umm Communist infiltration, Communist indoctrination, Communist subversion and the international Communist conspiracy?

I mean we couldn't let them sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids could we?

The Battle of the Alamo was fought between people trying to maintain the institution of slavery and ones who abolished slavery after winning their independence from their colonizer.

The slavers lost the battle.

If Lincoln hadn’t make the hard decision to keep the country unified, we’d be Europe number 2, and Germany would have taken over the world in 1945.

You forgot the 16th:

The Battle of the Alamo

Revisionist history

At the time

Goliad Massacre > The Alamo

Now

The Alamo > Goliad Massacre

Except for really old timers and service academy students, bet you can not find anybody today that heard of Goliad Massacre.

TL : DR Santa Anna was the Saddam Hussein of his day because of the Goliad Massacre, not the Alamo.

England was foolish for ever entering South Africa.

FIFY

They got into the Zulu wars and lost the first tow till they "won" the third. They were down there defending the DeBeers diamond monopoly and DeBeers never reciprocating by locating their HQ in the UK / London.

What if Germany had developed the atomic bomb?

Moot point.

We lucked out that Hitler was a military idiot.

The ME 262 was designed before Hitler entered Poland if memory serves.

It was the first jet EVER!

Brilliant Hitler used it as a support bomber like the Stuka

Did not really make it operational till like 44 (after Stalingrad, Battle of Britain, Kursk, etc, etc,)

Imagine if in say the summer of 40 (Battle of Britain) Hitler used it as a fighter, interceptor, and bomber escort. Considering in 44 or 45, 1 went up in the air and took down 1/2 dozen to 1 dozen big US bombers and no US escort fighter scratched it.

P51 Mustang was probably the best piston fighter of the war and it could not hold a candle to the first jet fighter. Imagine a P51 taking on an early US or USSR jet from Korea.

Getting directly involved in WW1 was a mistake.

I’ve never seen a single person have that opinion.

In fact, we didn’t give a frick about the Jews. We knew all about it in the late 30’s as soon as it started in earnest—so did all of the Allies.

We turned boats around that sought refuge. There’s no possible narrative that we got involved to save the Jews lol.

Well there is this tricky fact that Germany invaded France and Belgium before ever attacking the Russians.

We were dealing with a dishonorable people.

More like we were dealing with people who had gold under their feet. The US signed two treaties with the Cherokees that established their sovereign territory. Once gold was discovered on their lands, the US tore up those treaties. Yes, very honorable.
