Had an idea once that I pursued a bit until I thought it would be a tech and legal nightmare.
I found out years later someone actually did it....and Facebook sued them out of existence

Two that were taken:
1. 2.5mW wind turbine driving a hydraulic pump instead of a mast-mounted gearbox. The generator would be at the bottom of the mast, reducing weight, mass and polar moment. I missed this by 6 months.
2. Noise-cancelling system for submarines, that would broadcast opposite-phase sound, masking the acoustic signature of the vessel. As it turns out, DARPA was already on it.
But other ideas were not taken yet, and are performing well. Can't win 'em all...

I postulated all of these concepts.....
1. Horizontal Gene Transfer
2. Epigenesis
3. (Through-Space) Chemical Interactions
4. Pissing in someone's trench-coat pocket on a crowded elevator through a rolled up newspaper.

I came up with the concept of a rail gun/gauss rifle when I was like nine or ten. I was playing around with those little homemade electromagnets you can make with a nail, copper wire, and battery that I did for a science project. My dad helped me install a simple switch in the chain and I thought about having hundreds of them in a row synchronized to pull a projectile through a barrel without any propellant. I told my friend about the idea and he said it was the dumbest thing he had ever heard of.
