New balance did a hell of a turnaround recently going from “dad shoes” to cool shoes.

New balance is still dad shoes.

Dad shoes just happened to come into style. I don’t think new balance ushered that in. They just got to ride the wave.

The result was a bunch of "amateur" guitarists with low-end Fenders blew up into rockstars in the 90's and made Fender "cool" again overnight.

While I am no rock star, my first electric was a stratocaster and guess what I have seven of now? Stratocasters. Four fender amps, and one fender pedal. Guess it worked.

NewBalance expanded their product line to more athletic type shoes. They also started making the best baseball spikes. Their baseball lineup is probably the best around. A lot of high school and college teams are going with NB.

Kia seems to be doing pretty well after changing their logo. May not be related at all though.
They had already turned around their reputation before the logo change.

Not sure if it fits the question, but Champion branded clothing.

It used to be a cheap garment and now it is a hot brand. Not sure if they rebranded or just Withstood the test of time and someone decided to wear it and it became a status piece.

I found it funny when guys would belly up to the bar and say "F*ck Bud Light, give me a (insert Busch, Corona, Landshark, Rolling Rock, Michelob) instead"

I doubt you ever experienced that

“Salt Life” rebranding as “dead hooker in a hotel room” didn’t go so well.

I don't find it too unlikely. There was a frame of time at the height of the controversy that if you sat down at the bar, you were going to hear someone making jokes and/or complaining about Bud Light.

Dominos admitting their pizza sucked and they needed to change turned it around.

Am I the only one who preferred the old dominos?

They also still sell the quality made in USA versions of their shoes with real leather and materials unlike airmax's and Jordans all having synthetic garbage these days.
