Had to celebrate yesterday due to work today.

I had a great day though yesterday. I got to spend the day with my dad and my girls. We chilled by the pool at my parents house and fried some catfish last night. Watching the Hogs lose was the only part of yesterday that wasn’t perfect.

I got a shirt from my son that says "My son is my hero". Not sure he's grasping the Father's Day thing.

Nothing.

Didn't even call or text my Dad.

I'm not a father yet so nothing to receive. =\

Took my son golfing. That was his gift to me. I invited my FIL to join us. Had a good time.

I bought a new Ping G400 driver a couple of weeks ago and counted that as my gift from my wife.

We don't normally do anything big for Mother's or Father's Day.

My wife did get me some cupcakes. I'll usually just get her flowers and make her a nice meal on her day. She'll go shopping and spend $300 and tell me it is her Mother's Day present.

Got some cards and ate the continental breakfast with my wife, kids and Pop at the BW in New Roads this morning. That was good enough me.

Wife and kids surprised me with a breakfast Saturday morning then told me to grab a shower and get ready. We took a day trip to Memphis (about a four hour drive) to visit this massive hobby shop where I got to take as much time as I liked picking out whatever I wanted. Ended up buying four models, a 1:35 Scale Hummel SPG and a 1:72 Scale B-24 Liberator and PBY Catalina. Also bought a 1:48 Scale F4U Corsair.

They also took me to Central BBQ I’m Memphis where I had a half slab of ribs. Gotta say those were the best restaurant ribs I’ve ever had, but still not remotely close to the smoked ribs I do in the back yard. Of course that’s to be expected though considering they mass cook theirs while I do a no more than 3 or 4 slabs at a time. Still, they were good.

We also toured Graceland while in Memphis. It was pretty neat as well. Mainly I enjoyed getting pictures of my wife and kids enjoying themselves there so that’s always good.

Today after church I spent the afternoon in peace upstairs my study at my model desk listening on the radio to the Braves arse rape the Phillies. Then late this afternoon I grilled bone-in ribeyes for myself and my son and regular ribeyes for my wife and daughter. To go with them I also grilled Texas Toast while my wife took care of the baked potatoes. I washed it down with an ice cold Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale.

Tonight I’m kicked back in my recliner while my wife right now Is the kitchen mixing me a bourbon & Coke so we can sit and relax the rest of the evening.

In other words, this has been the absolute perfect Father's Day Weekend. I hope all my fellow fathers enjoyed their day as much as I have.

My boys went to Atlanta with me and the wife. Went to the Braves game Friday night, boys and one of the girlfriends went to Six Flags Saturday. Spent a bunch of money and had a blast.
