wasn't it just late last year that the founder's family sold out to some like Chicago conglomerate with the distinct goal being nationwide expansion?

The problem when this happens though is the food quality usually goes to complete shite. These conglomerates always change the ingredients up to cut costs and the food goes to shite. KFC was probably the worst when the colonel sold out a long time ago, it was awesome when Sanders controlled it. Been dozens of examples since then

Whataburger. A whole lotta meh. I have lived a mile from one for years and only ate there twice. Bland and overpriced.

Fun fact: The Starbucks on Ryan by McNeese used to be a Whataburger.

I remember the whataburger there. Not that busy nor was it ever that good. Went out of business. I’ve eaten at whataburger once in the last 15 years, somewhere between Houston and Lake Charles. Either Winnie or Beaumont. Either way, it was forgettable. Is the whataburger phenomenon a result of the overt Texas Pride (anything we do is the best) or has their food gotten better over the past 15-20 years. Genuinely curious.

Folks from LA have so much TX envy the are celebrating another meh burger chain moving in?

It aint bad but is hit and miss just like every other fast food joint, same cheap shite made by min wage kids, just a different design on the sack.

Probably not for much longer though.

It’s been sold out from the family to an investment firm whose stated goal was to turn it nationwide.

It’s gonna have the canes effect that when it grows they are going to start cutting corners on ingredients and amounts to boost profit margin.

Two bacon, egg and cheese breakfast taquitos (middle pic) is one of the best breakfasts out there!

Their grilled chicken sandwich is as good as some non fast food restaurants. Comes on a whole wheat bun too.
