what year do you have to be born to be considered a millennial?

Is there a certain year born that the millinials start?

If you are too lazy to Google this simple question then you might be a millennial.

I've heard 1980 to 2000. Not sure if that's totally accurate.

If you can't even spell millineals, then you might be a millineal.

I disagree with that range. People born before 1986-87 grew up in a completely different world than someone born in 1995. Technologically speaking, I think millennials haven't lived in a time without cell phones and widespread Internet, someone who was born In The early 80's can remember a time without that

'82, although I disagree because that would make me a millennial.

Same here.

I always thought it was around 2000. they're all coming of age now and protesting in the name of social justice and free education for all.

I was born in '81 (technically a millennial) but didn't have a cell phone until I was out of high school. Didn't have FB until several years after college.
It's mind-boggling to think about growing up in school with social media.

Children born in the early-mid 80's are generation Y.

83 here. Had a cell phone in 1998 bc my dad is a tech geek and it was passed down from him to my mom to me. Still have the same number too.
But, I don't feel like I/we fit in with the stereotypical person the OP is referring to even though the age range may lump us in.

Y'all have answered my question. There is no certain date. It's just a matter of opinion.

I was born in 81, definitely too young to be a gen X'er, but I don't feel like a millennial either.

I find that the people in their mid 80's were raised a lot differently (better) than the kids in the 90's. No fault to the parents. But I feel as thought the people born in the mid 80's were raised with the American spirit. Idk exactly what I mean. But I feel as though the rapid advancement of technology in the mid-late 90's and into the 21st century led the 90's babies to be raised in a more privileged environment.
It might be a bad example, but last month, I was at a little league baseball game. It was 7-8 coach pitch and it was just a weird sight to see. Kids didn't even seem interested. I noticed there weren't many dads, mostly short haired moms playing on their phone and posting pictures and videos on social media. Are parents forcing their kids into sports just to look good? I don't get it? Growing up, baseball was the best because you got to play sports with your friends everyday. And I got to travel around Louisiana and bordering states with my bestfriends. I know the one game I went to isn't a representation of little leagues around the country. But it was just a sad sight to see
That's all I have to say... For right now
TL;DR
baseball

I was born in 87 and I definitely remember time before the internet. The first computer I ever used was a laptop my dad got from work. I don't think we had a home computer until about 94-95 because I remember it ran on Windows 95.

Most '80's kids are well adjusted.
Most '90's babies are a bunch of pisspants.
ETA: If you never had to go knock on your friends door when younger and ask if 'Tommy can come out and play', you're a god damned millennial.

This thread topic is so old and worn out.

I don't think 16 year olds care about this
