From what I understand, they didn't predict the world would end.

“Your predictions were destroyed as easily as we destroyed your civilization.”

I think “Ha Ha” says it all.

They weren't 5 years off. Cortes and smallpox ended their world about 300 years ago.

My calendar says the world is ending in 11 days . . . but I already have a 2018 calendar so we are all good.

You ever hear the story of why the Mayan calendar ended in 2012?
The Mayan astrologer was working on the calendar when his buddy came over. He said "hey man, let's go get a beer."
The astrologer replied "I can't, I've got to finish this calendar. I'm only up to year 2012."
His friend insisted "Dude, c'mon"
The astrologer sighed, looked down at the calendar, and said "Eh, I guess it wouldn't be the end of the world if I took a break."

Between 2012 and Y2K I have enough food in my pantry to last a family of 4 60 months.

If my understanding is correct the year 2012 is a different astrological age/era

Maybe we misinterpreted them. The world has gotten weird as frick the last 5 years. Maybe that when we crossed dimensional planes.
