The Mayans didn't predict the world would end. That was modern day ignorant tin-foil hat wearing idiots. I spare as much time worrying about them as I do Mayans.

They never said the world was ending, their calendar just ended when one of the cycles ended. Since it was hundreds of years in the future, they probably figured they had some time to print some new calendars hopefully with kittens and puppies in costumes.

I dont think they predicted an end just some ole mayan scribe got tired scribing having gone far as he cared about and quit scribbling. If I had been tasked to writing down the calender the world would stop..... or at least my calender would in a month or 2.
