Most like to inflate numbers though the side point to that is a lot that are in prison have only been convicted of likely a fraction of their victims.
And no I don't mean Hitler, Khan, Stalin, etc.
Just normal dudes.

Some dude from South America. Gacy and Bundy aren't even close.

The one in Houma had a pretty high body count.
Ronald Dominique
He may not be the highest, but definitely one I remember from news coverage.

Luis Garavito? He had some insane attributed kill count.
The Green River Killer is up there too.
H.H. Holmes was technically only convicted of one, but his estimates are all over the place because he kept changing his story. He confessed to killing people who were still alive, then proclaimed innocence when a murder or missing person was connected to him.

Serial killers are not normal

The two guys from South America had similar MOs. They both killed hundreds, mostly street children, and were active across multiple countries.
One preyed on girls, the other boys.

Seriously, I like to read and keep up with serial killers and I always wonder how many active serial killers do we actually have.
Like when Baton Rouge had a serial killer (who ended up being Derek Todd Lee) and in the process of trying to find him they found Sean Vincent Gillis (at the time, I worked for a local government department and in another department in the court house, the company they used to come out and fix their office equipment... Gillis use to work for. The women in that department made a big deal out of it when they caught him).
Would they have ever known about Gillis if they were not hunting for a Serial Killer? He was killing hookers who had no one looking for them so his killings were not even on the radar. Their killings were wrote off as women who just lived high risk life-styles.
Ted Bundy.. He admitted to what? over 30 murders, but it is possible he could have killed closer to 100.. That's crazy.

I just saw this guy. I was googling serial killers and came across a list of 50+ most famous serial killers and he is on the list. He was arrested in 2006.. I wasn't really keeping up with the news much then so I don't remember him, but reading about it... It's interesting.. He was a sick frick.

Andriy Chikatilo was convicted of 52 murders of young girls in Russia
Here he is at trial in a cage.
He was then shot. No fricks given.
