the daughter's life and goals are pretty much done at age 15.

Not if she has supportive parents to help her

She can go to college and make something of herself

My wife and I had a kid in college. We both survived and have good jobs. It took a lot of help from our parents but thank god they didn't shun us

This wouldn't be an option for me. At worst, give it up for adoption but I'm not judging you on this....seriously.

She is. And that is her child.

and as the parent of the new mom, would it not be your job to ensure that she still has a successful life?

because making her raise the child "on her own" is basically ensuring her a much more difficult life

Raise the kid as your own and your daughter will be it's "sister". Problem solved.

And yeah, if she doesn't want an abortion she won't get an abortion. A parent has no say in something like that, even if it's a minor.

What if you legit can't afford it? (Not referring to abortion; I've already said forced abortion is retarded)

How many people are over their head in debt because their parents couldn't afford college? Now you're saying raise the kid you didn't birth AND send your kid to college?

A lot, if not most, of people could not afford to raise an entirely new child and also give their existing child a bright future.
Not every kid gets scholarships. Not every kid can do well while working their arse off to pay for a kid.

And not every parent can afford to let their kid continue their education and raise a new kid. There's a lot of people living on the minimum out there.

I'd be pushing adoption.

Planned Parenthood commits abortions on minors every day without informing their parents. Planned Parenthood commits abortions on minors who were impregnated by adult men of all ages every day without informing parents OR the police.

There are dozens of exposés of this. They will abort a minor without parental consent if they possibly can. It depends upon whether or not states have parental consent laws and if PP thinks they can get away with it.

After reading some of the responses in this thread, even though I did not have to deal with this situation, it suddenly occurred to me that I did not appreciate my parents as much as I should have.

Which is why i said she has 2 options.

1) She has the baby and gives it up for adoption

2) She decides to keep the baby. She can stay in my house but the father is not allowed to set foot on my property. Plus she and the father are responsible for it's clothes, food, and anything else it needs. Not one penny will come from me

with the proper support, I don't see how or why she wouldn't be able to have a successful life?

it would probably be a bit more difficult, and she would't be able to do all the fun things her friends get to do, but she could still get an education and pursue a real career

Good for you. You had parents to mooch off of so your poor decisions didn't frick your life up.

I'm being a little tongue in cheek here, kind of. Not trying to personally attack you, but you have described a 1 in a hundred situation. all my inlaws got someone or were pregnant before 16. I got my wife pregnant at 19.

They all live in trailers behind my father in laws house. The statistics don't lie. Having babies before you turn 20 is almost a one way ticket to poverty.
