My buddy works for the border patrol. He is told many stories of rolling around the beaches of Louisiana on four wheelers pulling bags of drugs out of the water.

Most times it is in the very remote parts of the coast that they find huge stashes

I found a backpack floating in the columbia river.

TBH, before I opened it I prepared myself to expect a dead baby or a head, etc.

Was a hobo pack, had notebooks, beg signs and shite like that.

I would think, my friend, if you kept it, the same fate would befall you that happened to Josh Brolin in No Country for Old Men. You’d be on the run until the cartel got their shite back and you were pushin’ up daisies with 100 Mac 10 bullet holes in you.

There is a documentary type movie about this happening in real life on Netflix. Too lazy to go see the name of movie.

About 10 years ago, one of the Little Füts fount a stainless steel tag on the beach in Perdido from a Crematorium located in Tampa, FL.

It had an ID number stamped on it.

Called them up and asked only for the the date that the tag was “produced”: 1975

Next time I went fishing in the deep Gulf, I returned the tag to the Gulf.

On the lighter side, I’ve got a long-time friend and we inshore & near-shore fish together.

Every time we would see a floating or washed up ice chest he always says “Don’t open it. There could be a head in it.”

Sound advice. There COULD be a head in it.

I would open the ice chest.

I met two guys one day on Elmer's island he said that they walk the beach every other day looking for stuff washed up on beach. I asked what was the best thing he has found and no shite told me that the week before he found a brick of weed that weighed close to 3 pounds

With my luck it would be a stripper’s torso or a collection of other body parts. Not sure I’d knife the bag open.

None of the above.

I would just admire the beauty.

Some friends of mine anchored at Cat Island overnight and woke up with bales of weed floating all around. They called the Coast Guard. Anybody who loses that much product will come looking for it.

Dude that is nothing to these people. They expect to lose load after load.

I would take all the cash out and drop the duffle bag or suitcase off in front (or maybe in the hedges) of the home of someone I truly hate. Let that asshat deal with anyone who may have put a tracker on it.
