Crazy arse neighbor of mine once told me a story about the government dropping something in Camille in hopes of breaking it up. Not a nuclear weapon, but something to displace the pressure. I just nodded my head and told him how interesting that story was.

A better question is can we figure out how to use a nuclear weapon to create a Cat 5 hurricane? "We didn't wipe out North Korea, Mother Nature did"

Nothing except sling a nuke's worth of fallout all over the place.

The amount of energy released by a nuclear bomb is a hiccup compared to what that storm is moving around.

another thought if some sort of bomb explosion underwater can counter against a storm incoming surge.

You'd take a massively destructive storm and turn it into a radioactive nightmare of a massively destructive storm.

we could get The Flash to run around in circles in the opposite direction inside of the storm .

I personally don't think a nuclear bomb would do a lot to stop a hurricane that is 300 miles wide

Why couldn't they just build a huge propeller that spun the opposite way to neutralize the wind?

If it affected anything, it'd be negative. You're just adding heat and energy to a giant arse heat pump, which will get it pumping harder. The kicker is no nuclear device is powerful enough to affect that short measurably. I guess theoretically you could blow the thing apart, but you'd probably blow the atmosphere off the earth or split it in two or something.

We just literally had this discussion. Its too close to land to try it now.

It's not too late to protect the USA! So what if Florida must be sacrificed?

What about a nuclear-powered Clockwise Hurricane Machine? It would spin clockwise and dissipate the Hurricane that Nature made.

Thanks for bashing the OP for stealing my thread from a few days ago.
