I work at a high school, so would probably try to make sure the students were safe and then go from there.

Jump out my window, get in the truck and GTFO. I have about a 5' fall and a 15' run to the truck.

Most heavily armed law office in Baton Rouge.... so honestly, I’m not sure how I think they would plan to escape

Room with a safe is pretty secure. Most of the guys have firearms in their vehicles as well.

I have 4 exits in my office, each leads to a different path to the parking lot. Use one away from the threat and get the hell outta dodge.

Ive been a part of active shooter webinars, seminars, panel discussions, etc. there is no right answer. Plenty of wrong answers though.

No escape option then I’d likely try to find a closet and hide in it next to the door and rush the shooter in the event he opened the door. Hopefully there’s just one shooter in this example and hopefully I can win that fight.

If possible I’m just going to run out a side or back door, though.

Maybe it’s because of my line of work but I am constantly thinking about where exits are located and what i’d do in certain situations. Probably unhealthy for us to think this way.

I’d do a couple of back flips, leg sweep him, get to my feet, kick his gun about 20 feet away, let him get to his feet, block a couple of punches, judo hip toss, two karate chops to the neck to knock him out, hack into his phone to find out where he lives, steal his car, bang his wife for approximately 17.5 seconds, and make it home in time to see skylar mays miss another layup.

Bad plan, if he shoots and misses, you and him instantly become the next target of the shooter.

Well there's nowhere to hide and no way to escape, so it's probably my best bet

Well, we have ICE, DHS, and my IG in my part of the building, so I'm not too concerned about the quality of our security guards. They certainly seem to take their jobs pretty seriously.

Actually very good idea, situational awareness can keep you alive. Simple things, at your workplace know where the exits are, if you cant have a firearm, know what around you can be used as a improvised weapon, fire extinguisher, letter openers, box cutters, arrange your desk or work area where you always face entrances and hallways. If you hear popping noises, unless it is the 4th of July, it is not fireworks or popping balloons, assume they are gunshots until proven otherwise.

It is sad that in the world we live in there is something to be said about juicing up your car emergency kit to have things like Israeli compression bandages or special air tight ones with one way air valves designed for sucking chest wounds

My office is by the front entry to our building. Window doesn't open so I'd have no choice but to make a break for the front door. Hopefully the shooter would take the other hallway.

I work frequently from my house. If I'm taking a bullet in there, it's most likely that the shooter is either me or someone I know.

If I'm at the office, I'll be the guy that gets picked off running out of the fire exit.

There have been multiple instances of someone walking into a police station taking out a gun and shooting someone in full view of multiple armed police officers, don't assume someone else will have your back even if that's their job.

Doesn't it have to be 4 or more injured or killed to be a mass shooting? Usually only 2 of us at work, so he would have to bring people with him to reach mass shooting status at my work.
