That's kind of my whole point. Any knucklehead can make a dictionary. Then he can go ascertain how people are actually using words and sell an updated dictionary every year or two.
Merriam-Webster is actually not quite as bad in this respect as the OED is. Those OED wackjobs proudly announce their progress in destroying our language every year (and the redefinition of "literally" to mean "not literally" was in one of their more recent announcements).
True meaning of "obliterated" is evident in the law against "possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number."
