Dog island tonight
Cat island next week
Just dropped anchor at Dog. Wet & worn out, storms in GOA.

On my lawn mower or the golf course

On a snow covered mountain off the side of a good run deep into the trees. Gimme a group of my buds, a cold beer, and a doobie and I’m in heaven.

Lots of places--botanical gardens in Quebec come to mind. Also, Grand Hotel overlooking Mobile Bay. On a rare clear and cool night, sitting out by a backyard fire with Mrs. FCP, toasting marshmallows (her), sipping whiskey (me), and looking at the stars.
Closer to home, pulling into my driveway at the end of a hard day/week. Half mile around the edge of a couple of fields and through the woods. That's my decompression zone, and, in days past, once I made it home, I'd be mobbed by 1-3 kiddos who were awaiting my arrival. Good times.

If my wife and kids are with me any place is a happy place.

On my back patio, throwing a slab on the smoker and throwing back a couple cold ones with my Dad and my son, while watching my grandkids play in the back yard and listening to my wife, daughter, and daughter in law chatting on the patio furniture. I always take a minute to take it all in and thank God for how he has blessed my life.
Or stoking a campfire next to my travel trailer at some state park watching my wife and kids help the grandkids make s’mores.

This once would’ve been the first reply. The OT is old.

Anywhere when I'm standing with a cigarette in my hand.

Coming in from a long day of fishing or hanging out at the islands at sunset in the gulf. You really can't beat that.

A lake or river with a fishing pole.

I have lots of them. Lots. I make a conscious effort to recognize and absorb and revel in the beauty of a moment whenever I find any little excuse to do so. Sometimes its as simple as watching the kids debate which stick is better for jewging into crawfish holes
Sublime and so true. I’ve come to think of some of those as rocking chair memories or EOL memories. Your last moments of life, the things you’re likely to think about.
But the cool thing is, you can ponder them know. So precious.
