I've been seeing no more of these companies which is good to know.
I don't follow the conspiracy type sites and crap, but for those that do, has there been any claims that these "companies" may all be just fronts for the government to build up their DNA databases?

No chance I'm sending a DNA sample to some random company and pay them to do whatever they want with it.

you realize when you were born the government took your DNA?

You haven't been paying attention; the conspiracy theory is that it's the Mormons collecting a database so they can enslave our ancestors in the afterlife.
ETA: I also think a lot of people want to clone me to have sex with me.

I did the NatGeo test. 75% Scandanavian (Sweden, Norway) 20% French 5% English I knew about the French but the Viking portion shocked me.
does anybody know if that 75% are legit people from up there coming to America or could it be from the Norman Conquest?

I am kinda curious about my lineage.
My mom is Irish and from New York.
My dad is Creole/AA from Plaquemines Parish.
I am some yankee/cajun hybrid. I also share the near same genetic code with another person on this planet lol.

the government already has the DNA of anybody born in America. your parents gave it to them.

Probably but I'm not giving it up willingly

Not worried about the DNA as much as I am more concerned with the fact that they know your every move. We are creatures of habit.

as for the DNA of collegedropout, well, I havent taken the test yet. maybe I will some day. I had much more fun researching my ancestors with google, and you fellas should do the same. I would suspect I am about 60% british, 10% Injun, 10% german 10% scots/irish, 5% danish, 5% dutch or thereabouts.
it is amazing how many of my ancestors went from England to Maryland or Virginia, then to Georgia, then west to Texas stopping in states such as Alabama, Tennessee, or Arkansas. most got to Texas around the time after the War of Northern Aggression.
like, 60% of them.

yeah, its more fun to research your family anyway. I dont care much about percentages, I want to know what my family did prior to my great grandparents.

I saved some money and got a one panel test. Turns out I'm not Italian, it was a huge relief.

Honest question:
Do you have any concerns that your DNA is now in a database somewhere that anyone with cause can get and not have issue you a warrant?
Before I'm accused...I'm not a conspiracy theorist...I'm just asking a question. We all know the legal system makes errors...I'm just wondering if anyone else is concerned.

At the moment, it really doesn't concern me. Now if insurance agencies can access your DNA to look for genes related to certain diseases, then it becomes a problem.

Irish is British.
What's do they define as Western Europe?
Not sure if I want to take this test, I don't want anyone else having this info
