So you were faster than the average NFL corner or WR?

No kidding. I ran Junior Olympics at the national level as a sprinter till I got a car and started chasing tail. As a 14-15 year old I ran 4.4 and had scouts from all the major colleges coast to coast scouting me.

Someone running sub 4.4 in HS would be a hot commodity.

I timed my son a few months ago who ran track in college. 200m and 400m, so more endurance than a sprinter. But, he was still fast. Ran in the 4X100 relay team too. The day I timed him he ran a 4.65. Didn’t have cleats and didn’t warm up much though. And, it was about 6 months after his track season/career ended and he had stopped training, so he would have faster on the team during the season. Still, he was moving.

Some of yall are just lying on these times. I don’t think we appreciate how fast 4.5-4.6 really is.

We had a RB who was in the 4.3's @ 6'1 and 220 at a Nike Camp. Had letters from all of the big time programs in the early 2000's. Got caught selling dope his junior year and that was it.

5.0

I had a rare combination of O-line speed, nickelback size, and bad hands...so I ran cross country.

5.6 and I weighed 145 lbs at 5'7" 2nd slowest on the football team.

We did wear our football cleats on a hard clay with some grass field.

4.84 digitally timed going into my SO yr of college (6'4", 245 LB DE) during our 'evals' going into fall camp where they basically put us through a combine with lifts and drills as well as conditioning to ensure everyone stuck to their bible for the summer workouts while we were all home. Could tell very quickly based off dismissal numbers from the prior spring and with the conditioning test who went home and stayed on track and who went home and said F that and fell off over the summer.

High to mid-5’s. Low speed, high torque.

I might gotten down to like 4.8 after HS but my fastest official was just above 5.0 seconds. I was slow. I played QB but had less than 10 rushing yards my senior year (well into the negatives if you count sacks).

I was the slowest person on the team in 7th grade when I hit my growth spurt. My patella tendons were super stressed / constantly sore and I ran like a 7.5 second 40

4.39 in the 40 and 6.43 in the 60.

That was 26 years ago playing baseball in college. Ran against my oldest son a couple of years ago and he runs a 4.5 40 and I barely beat him.
