I was 13. Just remember jerking off a lot. And I mean A LOT.

Oxford MS.

Slaying Ole Miss coeds and eating chicken on a stick from the Exxon after midnight.

It was the best of times.

I was in the best shape of my life. I was closer to God than I’ve ever been, and I was flush with cash.

One of the best and worse years of my life. I partied hard with my bestfriend for the first 2 months of the year and buried him in April. He had cancer and only lasted 2 months after diagnosed. It was one helluva shock to me.

That fall, I was given the good ol' "ring or goodbye" ultimatum. Haven't seen nor heard from her since.

I was single and had a large home in the most expensive neighborhood in the 'burbs. Three cars in the garage.

Girlfriend at start of the year was an incredibly gorgeous Ford Agency model. Beautiful and could and did run a marathon. Girlfriend at the end of the year was named Most Photogenic in a Miss USA contest. Tough job but someone had to do it.

Optimist. The best is yet to come.

I was a teaching pro at a suburban Atlanta country club. Single man living at the golf course during the day and the bars at night. Not too shabby.

The Atlanta Olympics always stand out for me when someone says 1996.

Oh, and I was in Centennial Olympic Park the night the bomb exploded during the Olympics. That was scary as hell.
