This is a little corona virus pet project. I bought this vanity pretty cheap. I’m planning on making it a bar.

Tiger maple & stained much darker than the natural color.
Highly symmetric pattern, almost too symmetric, I suspect a veneer but can’t tell from that far away.
Nice find. If it is a veneer, be careful how aggressively you sand if it you try to rework the finish.

The way the coloring is consistent across the seam in the middle of the piece seems to indicate that the striping is applied and not natural to the wood.

I’ve done sanded it with an 80 grit belt sander and 200 grit orbital sander, then stained it (in that photo)

Probably, but it’s a thick veneer, because I’ve already sanded it 80/200.
