1. Offer to pay for your wife to take a girl’s trip to Southeast Asia to celebrate
2. Buy her a one-way ticket and lose her phone number
3. Retire from your job in five years

**the above is not legal advice

The first thing is to not go around telling folks about it.

Invest in shady business endeavors with little to no details offered by randos on message boards.

BTW I got a great business venture that is guaranteed to at least quadruple your investment within the first 6 months. Within a year you will get ten times your investment, if not more, guaranteed. All I need is a minimum of $250K (though the more you invest upfront the faster the return and bigger the profit) in the form of bitcoin.

If everything is paid off and no debt, you should be able to retire comfortably on $2,000,000.

Worst case get a low level, low stress job you enjoy just for benefits.

Do you have any other sources of income?

I know someone in almost the identical spot but they are also drawing 135k per year in pension on top of that so in his case he will never touch the principal and actually add to his investments.

Work 5 more years.

Don’t change a thing. Keep saving. See a financial advisor that you feel good about. Enjoy.

If you want real advice ask the money board

Imo, $2M with no debts can be enough for your to retire. Depending on a couple of things.

Does your wife work? If so get on her insurance. If not you may need to find a part time of low stress job that offers insurance at least until kids are out of the house.

How old are kids?
How much is in taxable vs non taxable? You will need to make it to 59.5 living on your brokerage.

You likely need a financial planner to help manage your brokerage into lower risk, selling, withdrawals, capital gains tax, etc

How did you manage saving $2 million when she spends your entire paycheck? You 2 need to go together to counseling and get this shite straightened out. If you hired a financial advisor make sure they are a FIDUCIARY advisor (I don't know why you need one, you've done well on your own).

Have a sit down with the wife and put the clamps on the spending.

The wife seems to be a problem. If she's not making all of the money she's spending plus some, tell her to quit being a selfish bitch. If she cares about op at all, then she needs to realize her actions are selfish, spoiling herself at his expense.
