Going to a buddies wedding in August in San Diego and looking into making a vacation out of it. Anyone been there before and if so what should we try and do/see?

Eat at Slaters 50/50. Best burgers ever and amazing beer selection.

Everything dude. Just do a little reading. It's a tourist haven. Took the family there two years ago for a week - great time.

the coronado hotel is on the beach and there's a pretty cool little deck area next to it that overlooks the ocean with a food/drink stand right in the middle. Nice way to kill an hour or so.

Fisherman's Landing in Point Loma is pretty cool. Watch the boats offload their catch.

Gaslamp district and the USS Midway.

Plenty to do just do some research.

If San Diego wasn't in Califorinia I'd move there.

Anthony's Fish Grotto, the downtown waterfront location. Eat there, then bar hop the Gaslamp.

ETA: Another good bar hopping area is Garnet Avenue in Pacific Beach.

Gaslamp District is fun. Take the 30 min drive over to La Jolla at night. See the seals!

Stone Brewing Bistro & Gardens. Dozens of Stone beers and other California beers on tap. Great outdoor seating, bocce court, live music.
