What to do in NYC for 1 day?

I am on a business trip and will be staying in NYC over the weekend. I will basically have all of saturday to spend there and head out on sunday. What are the must do things that can be done in one day?

Do the walking triangle of Grand Central, Times Square, Rockefeller Center (then maybe Central Park). Then take subway to Battery Park to see Statue of Liberty, WTC, Wall St etc.
Those two (maybe three) things along will keep you busy for most of the day. For afternoon drinks go to Dead Rabbit near Wall Street.

Here's what I've done a few times...warning. It's a long day and you'll be tired.
- Start at 9/11 memorial
- Walk battery park to get view of statue of liberty
- Continue walking to Wall St.
- Head to Brooklyn Bridge
- Walk to Chinatown for shopping
- Lunch in Little Italy
- Take subway or cab to Empire State building.
- Walk to Grand Central Station
- Cab to Upper East Side for afternoon/dinner around Central Park
- Early evening walk or cab to Times Square.
- Start at 9/11 memorial

Maybe go to the Met &/or Natural History museum if you're into that sort of thing.
Honestly, you can't lose whatever you do. I love NY. It's an amazing place.

Skip Times Square and Battery Park--they're just tourist traps. Don't miss Grand Central. It's an unbelievable building.

See Central Park, and if you're into art, you could easily spend a full day at the Met.
Really though, New York is a special place. It feels alive in a way that other cities don't, so just spend time walking and taking it all in. Pop in and out of bars, eat the street food, and don't think that you can possibly see everything on a tourist map in one day.

I'd almost skip all museums just because they would take an entire day on their own, so you'd just be skimming.
I got dropped off at Battery Park (not very interesting, but worth seeing for a little while if only for the Statue of Liberty). Then walked Wall Street, saw Federal Hall, Trinity Church, Twin Tower Memorial area.
Then hop a cab up to Washington Square Park. Hang out in Greenwich and see a little of NYU. See where the Gaslight Café was and where Bob Dylan and Allen Ginsberg used to hang out. There's a lot of neat stuff like that in the area if you look into it.
Then you can head up to Rockefeller/Upper East Side/fringes of Central Park/ Times square (relatively walkable in an afternoon).
There's a lot of cool stuff to see without paying any admission to places. Just do some research on your own before going, and you can find tons of cool things to see on your own and read up on all the historical/interesting facts.

I think the oyster bar is closed on Saturdays. Also, I'd suggest the Highline if on a trip of several days, but wouldn't do it if I only had one day in NYC.
