There's a Saints bar, in Austin, called Shoal Creek Saloon. It's got decent food but the people are what make the place. It's a great place to catch a game if you're there during football season.

Bats is on the list too.

Will any of the other bbq joints have waits or is it just Franklins? How bad will the line there be on a Friday or does it not matter?

Listen to what SUB said, except for the part about ABGB having "so so" beer.

You're entitled to your opinion. I've never been too impressed. Maybe slightly above average, is what I'd rate their stuff. The problem with ABGB, is that you only have a few choices for beer, and it's only stuff they brewed. I like Pinthouse better because A) They offer their own brewed stuff plus lots of other craft brews, and B) Their house beers are a lot better and some of the best local beer you can get.

OP, hope you have a good time. Report back on how things went if you remember.

LA BBQ probably will have the 2nd longest wait. You'll probably wait at least an hour in line to order there.
Valentina's - I went on a Sunday at like 3pm so I'm not sure. It was about 30 minutes or so to wait in line and get my food.
Mickelthwaite - usually doesn't have much of a wait. Maybe 20 minutes, and Friday would be a good day to go.
Stiles Switch - they are probably the biggest operation out of all of these and the line moves pretty quick. I've never had to wait long there.

Oasis is pretty badass. It's an outdoor restaurant/bar area overlooking Lake Travis.

I live in Kyle, right next to Buda. But I don't get out much so I don't really have any suggestions for you; I'm just getting ideas for myself from other people's suggestions.
