Will they ever leave? It’s been growing steadily and is probably part of a larger problem that needs to be addressed.

That’s the only bad thing I can say about Houston- the homeless problem. Wife and I were really taken aback by the city’s tolerance for their loitering. Never thought they’d allow them to form villages under the interstate downtown like they do in NOLA. I realize big cities have big city problems. I expect it in New Orleans, but not in Houston. They need to clean that shite up.

Yes I know that. But some cities are more tolerant of their homeless- like NO or SF. I just didn’t think Houston would be the same.

Tent city? I thought this was affordable housing. I just paid $30k for a pop-up with a river view.

Nashville is bigger than New Orleans and Nashville doesn’t have that problem

They all went to one spot after getting kicked out from their initial hang out underneath 59 by the convention center.

I caught a glimpse of a pretty big tent city off 290 recently. It's getting out of hand.

It’s out of control over by Minute Maid. Keeps me from attending games.

I saw a homeless concert when I went to Austin. They had presumably stolen speakers and everything

Dude I ride my bicycle right through there. No issues. Uber to the games though.

There are a couple famous homeless in Austin that play a mean guitar. They just missed their shot. I always throw them a couple bucks.

I'm confused, surely the GREATEST STATE IN THE WORLD (says the O-T) doesn't have any homeless people in it at all? Everyone that lives in Texas makes at least 6 figures, so I'm confused.

NOLA's homeless population grows in the winter because the "urban campers" from up north come down here. Homeless snowbirds, really. My guess is Houston has the same issue.

As far as what they can do about it... the courts have basically neutered the cities. In NOLA they will use a "health crisis" to chase them out for a few days while they clean up, but a week later it's right back to the same.
