What the reality of life in Afghanistan is today for an Afghan Christian

Excuse the video quality and distortion of his voice in the clip. Their reality is far far different from the life of a Christian here in this country or most places really. I’d encourage you to focus on his words instead. This is absolutely heart breaking in every sense of it, and gives you a glimpse of just how awful what has happened over there truly is.

I would assume pretty shite…
Prepare for full religious oppression for anyone who is not a radical Muslim.

It's terrible and heartbreaking

How shocking.....other non-Muslim religion getting persecuted in a Muslim dominant country. And sky is blue in other news

What really gets me is the abandonment he is feeling. That both makes me furious at this administration for letting this come to this, and abandoning those people and leaving them to their own fate, and heart broken for them and their plight at the same time.

"Our work over 20 years..."
Is he God? No. He's an idiot who needs to GTFO of that country and quit pouting. Practice your religion where other people are also practicing. If not, war with millions of casualties has historically been the outcome. That whole region of Earth is over-obsessed with some form of religion.
As George Carlin said:
"Do you believe in god?"
"Yes"
"Do you believe in MY god?"
"No"
"Boom"

Impossible. I've been assured over the last 20 years that Islam is the most peaceful and tolerant religion on the planet and that Christians, especially the white conservative ones, are responsible for everything evil in the world

Our Gov't has been a huge embarrassment for the way they have handled this.

You attribute faith to a group effort? When in Rome, do as Romans do?
The man is clearly a real deal Christian. You have to be authentic when you’re an Afghan Christian. He’s clearly not playing religion like many or even most Christians in this country are.
To put this in perspective, the average 20 year old and younger has never known anything but American protection. Their reality, and their hope for their country’s future has been absolutely crushed and turned upside down overnight, as has the word of America in future international affairs become absolute laughable hot garbage. We will never be trusted again, and well we shouldn’t be, because we embark upon lofty aims and give big talk, but have the attention span of a 3 year old, and lack the staying power of a teenager.

It is heartbreaking, just as it was before we went into the country twenty years ago. The only way we can effectively control the situation is to remain as an occupying force forever.

I don’t think that’s necessary. I do think that training the Afghan military and police to operate devoid of American support would have been a far better policy than dependent upon American intel and support.
For instance, perhaps it would have been smarter to train them to fight a gorilla war than one that relies upon American technology, tactics, intel, and support to keep them safe.

weird. i was told by our President this version of the Taliban is more moderate than before. In fact, here he is:

"No," Biden said. "I think they're going through sort of an existential crisis about, do they want to be recognized by the international community as being a legitimate government? I'm not sure they do."

Right? Makes it completely insane that people would ever want to import Muslims into any country. Ever.
Those countries will end up just like Afghanistan...which wasn't always a Muslim dominant area of the world.

Did the Afghan Security Forces fire a single shot? Doesn’t seem so. In a way, the complete absence of any opposition to Taliban rule is a clear message of the selection of the Taliban as rulers. It’s really messed up, but the non-Taliban government had the means to defend themselves. They chose not to do so.
What happens next is outside of our control unless we want to restart the occupation. I certainly don’t want Americans to go back. That really is the only alternative.

Gotta love the anti-free speech/anti-freedom of religion folks outing themselves in threads like these.

All we had to do is not abandon their air support. That's it. We didn't even need to be in the country for that.
We trained these fighters to rely on us for air support in order to effectively fight, and then took it away.
Also, your assertion that no Afghan forces fired a shot is wrong. They're still fighting. LINK
