Just ordered some contacts and I should've known better to get the better shipping since they just hit the black hole known as "NORTH HOUSTON TX DISTRIBUTION CENTER" where the package will inevitably be stuck for several days.

I just passed the large facility on Bluebonnet @ Perkins. Had a bunch of people (I'm assuming employees) out there with signs, chanting, etc...

USPS is a bunch of people that couldn’t make it at other places. Fed ex is the same

They’re having a demonstration in Lafayette as well. Protesting “the threats to their jobs”. They are horrible at their jobs. Privatize the damn thing and let them sink or swim.

I don't know what's going on, but I know they're protesting about something in Lafayette today. Their service is terrible, and they all need to be fired and replaced with people that appreciate their jobs.

areas where FedEx/ups/DHL already rely on USPS to get out shipments
Please don’t let fedex or ups anywhere near that. That would be pouring gas on a fire.

if yall hate the service of usps so much they just pay 3x the amount and ship with fedex or UPS.

The worst is when you're ordering drugs. You don't know if the delay is because they caught you or it's just the normal laziness that got it.

the conspiracy is Trump is sabotaging the USPS to "justify" privatizing it.

Same...Package sitting there for three days now.

This is the danger with unions. shite performances with no consequences. Service only gets worse.

I get at least 1 'signature required' mail piece monthly. It has been 2 years since that lazy mail lady of mine has come to the door for the signature. She always puts "No one available", sticks the tag in the mailbox and drives off. I've sent videos of this taking place, with timestamps, to the postal service complaining and they haven't done shite about it.

If people are unhappy now, they really don't want to see how long their waits will be through a strictly privatized system, unless you're willing to pay a premium price which will give everyone something else to complain about.

That dude reminds me of every pothead in the smoke hole in high school in the early 80s....dumber than a sack of hammers but a fricking blast to listen to and marvel at their idiocy...

Two packages lost in two months, and one from 40 miles away sent across the country to Fargo North Dakota before returning to Baton Rouge for delivery. I have more, but you get the picture.

Same here, ordered a car part and it's been stuck in BR processing center for over a week.
Posted on 3/20/25 at 2:16 pm to sleepytime
Yes, I have had some packages going from BR to “in transit to next facility” for 4 days and counting. What is going on there?
Posted on 3/20/25 at 2:18 pm to sleepytime
When a USPS package ends up getting to Houston, then it is usually a 4 to 5 day wait there. Happens every time.

Theo von has answered this question.
Yeah, dumber than a sack of hammers. The majority of US Postal Service Employees are white and male. 56% of employees are white (general population is 59%). A little under 13% are black (general population is just over 14%). It may well be that there simply ain't ENOUGH black folks.
Almost 70% of USPS management is....wait for it....white men LOL. Of course it is, anyone who has lived in the US for any length of time who is not fricking brain dead or a reprobate white supremacist knows that every institution and organization in the US has far more white men in management positions than white men in the general population. It may well be that IF the USPS has issues they are directly attributable to the lack of diversity in leadership positions but of course leaders only count when they are 2 things, white men and the organizations they lead are successful. When the latter is questionable all of a sudden it is those being lead who are too blame, not the white men doing the leading.
This shite is really just too easy in 2025 to dispel. At this point you just gotta be committed to thinking like this fricking idiot.....
