We're not weird. Yeah we may have a few mountain freaks but you know some of those swamp freaks that eat nutrias aren't necessarily the highlight of Louisiana culture

Where was the capital of the confederacy?
Montgomery Alabama
Then it went to Richmond, Va

People saying South Carolina arent southern are delusional
It IS the south. They still have people that talk with the true old Gone With the Wind southern drawl that is almost extinct everywhere else

Sorry, but you're weird. NWA is cultish and while it has its charms, it's not the same. Arkansas has it's own unique history/culture/politics that sets it apart.
If I meet someone from Arkansas I generally consider them a Southerner, but if we're talking about the core/traditional South, Arkansas is on the fringe.

I do not know why the heck it went to Richmond

South Carolina and Charleston are definitely iconic Southern. That said, as an outside, nothing is more southern than Alabama.

SEC states
Missouri never has, even during the war, come to terms with whether they are southern.

It's the Southerner's south as well as the go-to when the rest of the country wants to portray us fondly.
If I wanted to take someone somewhere that is the heart of the cultural south, I'd take them to Charleston, Savannah or one of the better/more quaint SEC college towns.
