3 strikes and you are sent to a working farm commune. You get a place to live, meals, drug/ mental treatment and education of some form GED etc. Learn a marketable skill and after a certain amount of time you get released with a job. If you have family that will sign to be responsible for you there could be an option to get out earlier, but there would be a penalty for said family member that took responsibility if they didn’t. A better, but similar operation to Angola. Also people have to stop giving to them out of guilt. I am sure I will get hammered for this idea, but something needs to happen quickly.

What you are describing is giving to them out of guilt. Otherwise we just shoot them or otherwise eliminate them. Its the guilt that would lead to spending far more than it would cost to house and feed them outside of this system.

Turn them into Soylent Green and feed them to starving African orphans.

There's no "solution". The only hope we have is to reduce the number of people that choose this lifestyle going forward. Yes, most choose this via a lifetime of poor decisions.

A sizeable number of them did indeed make the bad decision to serve their country by joining the military. Somewhere around 7% by some estimates.

Another large number of them made the horrible decision to be born into a family of miscreants who could not be bothered to raise them and many in those families actually went a step further and molested and abused them. The fricking morons and their poor decision making. Prisons are also full of these poor decision making idiots.

Tent cities in the desert. Unlimited drugs upon request. The problem will solve itself pretty quickly.

Reopen asylums and involuntary commitment. We shut these down in the 70s and the homeless population exploded. No reason taxpayers should have to deal with drug use, excrement, crime on a daily basis due to the mentally ill

This is the answer. The left was disturbed by the over the top maltreatment of patients in publicly funded mental hospitals and the right agreed that something had to be done. What was done was eliminating most public spending on mental health. The public, who never saw a cut in spending it did not like unless it directly impacted them personally and immediately, was happier than pigs in slop. Here we are.

There are a couple of options, none of the particularly palatable. We either continue to do little or nothing. We do the work and spend the money necessary to provide them with the support and care they need or we round them up and eliminate them. The first option is the most likely course we settle on but the last is more likely than the second....

Bring back the Victorian Era poor farm and related concepts. Under supervision, nobody goes hungry or without shelter, but they have to work to keep the place going.

And deal with corporate farms and Wal Mart when they lose 1/10th of a 1 % of their sales because these homeless people are somewhat self sufficient??? That ain't ever gonna happen....WalMart and Cargill will make anyone suggesting such an outrage homeless if not lifeless...

Almost all homeless people suffer from mental illness. Mental illness is identical to physical illness, it is an illness of the person, the mind is an organ just like the lungs. What we really ought to do is just eliminate sick people altogether, it should not make any difference if they have problems with their mind or their heart, they are most likely going to be a source of discomfort for the rest of us and as such have no right to live among us. All sick people, mentally sick or physically, should be rounded up and euthanized. That way we do not have to suffer from any discomfort ourselves. It is every bit as disgusting to see a homeless person shitting in the street as it would be if it was a person with cancer who could not afford to be in the hospital. At the very least we should mistreat people with physical illnesses while they are hospitalized like we have and still do those with mental illnesses.

Like mental illness physical illness is a direct result of poor decision making more often than not. It can happen that a person becomes ill either mentally or physically through no fault of their own but they are still a source of discomfort for the rest of us....again, if a person is mentall ill through no fault of their own or they have cancer through no fault of their own its disgusting for them to be shitting in the street. Those suffering from physical illness through no fault of their own are so small in number that rounding them up with the smokers and the drinkers and the fat fricks is just a nicety for the rest of us....why should medical professionals and taxpayers be expected to take care of them when they cant do it themselves.

What really should happen is anyone who does not march in lockstep with whatever society defines as normal and anyone who is physically ill should be rounded up and eliminated. We will never have nice things as long as these anchors are secured to our necks.

Just kill all the ill people, mentally, physically or otherwise, just kill them. It is far more important that the rest of us do not have to deal with their illness than it is for them, most guilty of making bad decisions, to be allowed to provide any discomfort to the rest of us. Just exterminate them.

Who do you think are going to support all of these asylums? The taxpayers, who else.

Trade them with Mexico for immigrants who want to work & pay taxes.

“Take a homeless, get 1 free immigrant family work visa for your citizens.’

Clean up those streets quick.
