A rec league? We’ve been soccer parents for 5 years, it was good times. He’s moved on to regional leagues now...no more tournaments. Played in a ton after rec.

Is he going to a school with real athletes or not? If he has been playing with a bunch of kids like him there may be an adjustment to the athleticism of the kids he plays with

One of them is probably avg to slightly above avg athleticism compared to the kids in his leagues. His problem is he's a bit too timid. But in every league he's played in, he's always had the best hands of anyone I've seen of the kids from each team, and all he wants is to play wide receiver, so I'd go with that.
His twin brother...he'll be best served handing out gatorades to the players when they come off the field.

quote:Easy there drama queen. Believe it or not, you can raise a kid that thinks for himself, has his own ideas and a little back bone. They come to you and ask to play sports. If he wants to play, why would I stop him. The risks are tiny compared to going driving down the road with his friends.
The funniest part about all of this (to me, at least) is that odds are none of your kids will make any money doing it. So you are knowingly subjecting them to a sport that potentially causes brain damage for nothing but your own desire to make up for your own shortcomings by living vicariously through them.
You let yours drive and go to parties, dont you? Are you living thru them? What about when they go to a birthday party? Sleepovers?
Sports are great, they have coaches that watch out for them, teammates with similar goals and they have responsibility to others.

He’s going to the school Myles Brennan went to, so they produce some kids. It’ll all depend on if my son can put on weight on he compares when he gets older. He actually may end up with Brennan’s build too, which would be great for track and soccer.

Kicker, that's it. After 3 concussions I suffered at MLB and Tight End as well as a blown out knee, I won't push my son at all to play.

I played center/long snapper in HS. Got lit up multiple times, but that was mostly because I was a dumbass and didn’t keep my head on a swivel. I would rather my boy decides to play something other than football, but I certainly won’t stop him from playing. All that being said, the obvious answer is kicker/punter.
