I found a package under the house that my sister had sent from Dicks this morning. Straight into the trash. Yes, I am that guy.

Like the truck stops?
The truck stop in my town has grown, and traffic has been at an exponential growth since COVID.

I think all major department stores will be done in ten years as well as all malls. Will basically be Walmart, for those less fortunate and online shopping. Look at what Black Friday has turned since covid. It’s to easy to order things online.
It is hard to imagine but shopping malls are resurging and doing so in a huge manner in some areas. Apparently Gen Z consumers are more ate up with going to the mall than Generation X was in the 70s and 80s. The large anchor stores are no longer viable but small stores and loads of entertainment options seem to bringing them back into vogue. I know we have one that does a BOOMING business. The 4 anchors stores have been turned into a trampoline park, an enlarged food court with a bunch of full service options and an event space that does a helluva business. Between the 4 anchors there is the normal small stores and food court. There are still 3 large anchors but one of those is a JC Penny so it will probably be some kind of entertainment venue in the not too distant future. They are currently expanding with a multiplex and a series of national chain restaurants like Olive Garden and OutBack. This trend is, apparently, nationwide...I ain't been to one since "The Goldmine" (if you know you know) was a thing but apparently folks like them some mall again...who knew???

Sirius will stay in business due to the fact they are the only satellite radio company and is available in just about all cars. Even if half of the new buyers keep their subscriptions for a year to 18 months, they do fine.
Those new subscribers will find it nearly impossible to cancel their subscription. If you do not have the radio ID its damn near impossible. Even closing the account that the bill is paid from won't cancel it....they are notorious for coming after people in 6 months to a year and collecting.

SHeeeeeeiiitttt....Its obvious you don't have a good Church's in your area...the quality is admittedly all over the place but in the right location Church's is about as good as fast food fried chicken can get....and those honey biscuits? Honey hush....

By contrast - Raising Cane's, Starbucks, In & Out Burger, and especially Chick Fil A seem to be scaling up in restaurant envelope size as they expand to new locations. The newer stores are often far larger than the older ones - which means they cost more to set up, cost more to staff, and limits those chains ability to expand into secondary/tertiary markets or on smaller plots of land than they dealt with in the past.
I don't see how Chick Fila makes it with their labor costs. It definitely makes a HUGE difference in the level of service but their prices are not out of line and their food quality is far better than all but Whataburger. They do a booming business everywhere and do so in 6 days instead of 7. Has to be one of the best managed companies on the planet.

Chick fil is one of the lowest paying fast food providers.
They have a strong scholarship opportunity.
They heavily develop the employees and do a good job with retention/promotion.
And the brand loyalty can't be overstated (parents happy to shove their kids off to CFA for job experience).
But in our town, kids are starting out with 50%+ higher pay at other fast food and retail outlets.

You are spot on...my 13 year old daughter asks every time we go...and she insists we go a lot...when she will be old enough to work at Chick Fila LOL. Strangely enough that or Waffle House LOL. Both have a STRONG contingent of local high school kids, working at the Chick Fila and hanging out at 2 Waffle Houses in walking distance from the High School...It is a social event in both cases.

They're still the largest market cap car company in the world and have a lot of built in advantages over legacy automakers in the EV sector.

Panera... between the lawsuits from their super caffinated lemonade incoming and the fact that no one can really be a regular with their giraffe high prices and tiny food
