0.79 Mbps down, 0.27 Mbps up.
I love living in a remote location but it comes at a cost.

Pretty sure I pay for higher listed speeds, though I am pretty far from the router.
Comcast
Found your problem.

What kind did you buy? I’m renting one from Cox now and it bothers me when I happen to think about it.
Just go to Best Buy and grab one. Cox supports most Docsis 3 modems. Motorola is typically a decent brand.
You can get a combined modem and router or separate. I prefer the separate ones. I have Google Wifi APs

I have the same issue... we have CenturyLink
The highest they offer in our area is 4mbs Down and 1mbs Up
We stream Netflix and run 6-8 devices in our home and don't have any trouble but it is slow when you want to download or update something.

Did you actually get the full 300?
I get pretty close most of the time. It's "up to 300mb" in the literature, so I can live with that.
My router purchase
My modem purchase - Docis 3.0 and 32 download channels
The download channels and poor router were my problems in the past. They were working fine, but limited my high end speed due to 8 channels on the modem IIRC.

Meh, other than customer service (which surprisingly I haven't needed during this current stint with them), Comcast is great. Xfinity X1 platform is excellent, and they let you bundle security instead of home phone, which we don't have/need.
Listed speeds are typically best case scenario, wired, etc., so I wouldn't expect to match it being wireless and across the house.
3 years ago I would have agreed with you. We ditched them in angry protest for ATT back then. Came back with the new features and because ATT ended up being just as bad or worse in some cases.

50 Mbps...I am still waiting for Eatel’s acquisition of Vision Communications to finally turn it into a decent provider of internet and cable like it’s parent company Eatel.
Vision has rates and channel line ups and pricing that still resemble the 2000s. Some packages and extras that Eatel has in its service area are not available on the Vision service area but cost the same.
I believe Vision finally got 100 Mbps in the last few years but it is higher than a giraffe’s p—sy.
From what I understand they have faster speeds around Port Fourchon where they have fiber to the business.
I am about to go internet only with them, but it is not like I have choices for internet providers unless I move up the bayou to Lockport where at least they do have some competition with AT&T but that is hit or miss too as DSL sucks.

I just wish there were more options, I see where people basically have 1 option. It's like that in parts of Nola with cox. The speed thing isn't an issue. It's dealing with their bs and up charges if you go over your data plan.
Prices have only gone up. And let's say one month I'm under my data usage by 400 gb. Great, same price. Next month I'm over by 100gb and my bill is double.

300/1200 baud modem through home phone. Makes an annoying noise at first, but after that it’s pretty good. By the time you go get another beer and take a leak you probably have over half a boob showing.

shite, it seems like. CableOne on wi-fi while my son lords over the one ethernet connection.
ETA: 4.97 down, 10.11 up, 12 ping
(How bad is that?)

I’m paying for Cox Premier (300/30) and I ave never sniffed 100.

I just upgraded to Cox Premiere yesterday. How do I check my speeds?
Posted on 10/4/18 at 6:21 pm to rmcc316
I'm supposed to get around 70 down and 20 up
Get between 5-15 down and 2 up
Called the people many times for them to "fix" it. They claim to fix it but it's exactly the same that it's been.

It's probably your equipment or cable run. I get almost 200 with the same tier. Make sure your modem is Docsis 3. Also that your ethernet cable is cat 5e or cat 6.

152 down 22.5 up on my phone. Spectrum is my provider.
25 down 0.6 up using cellular. T Mobile is my carrier.
ETA: Just did it again, and it would appear there is less strain in both networks
200 down, 22.8 up for wifi.
36 down, 2.4 up for cellular.
