Reserved seating is your friend.

For the bus: Indianapolis to San Francisco. I would have had to go from San Francisco to Corpus Christi at the end of that summer, but I found a ticket on southwest in the paper for cheaper than the greyhound ticket.

Greyhound bus Annapolis, MD to Baton Rouge in 1984.

Going through downtown Atlanta is the only part of the trip I remember as it depressed the shite out of me seeing all the druggies laid out on the concrete. Atlanta was about 10yrs ahead of New Orleans with all that depravity.

I guess mine would have to be from north AL to Orlando for a school trip, probably at least ten hours. The second would be to NOLA from the same area which was ~7 hours. It was a school trip, too.

Two 2 week long motor coach tours of Europe.

One started in London and ended in Rome and went as far south as Pompeii.

The other was a tour of the Alpine countries, starting in Frankfort and circling through Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy before ending back in Frankfurt.

Took the same trip. The amount of finger banging that happened on that bus was wild

NYC to Shreveport a week before Christmas in '96. It was hell. Every bus packed. Every bus station SRO. It was about $100 roundtrip.

Joined the Navy in 62. After Boot Camp, San Diego, I rode a Greyhound Bus from San Diego, California to Winnsboro, Louisiana.
Then I rode back to San Francisco, California.

Casablanca to Marrakech with a splitting headache and a driver that managed to find every pothole in between.

I know, take the train next time...

Baton Rouge to Acapulco, Mexico on a high school trip in the 1970's. It was broken up into shorter legs,as we stopped in several cities including Mexico City and Taxco, but it is 25 hours one way to Acapulco by bus, and that's a conservative estimate.

2002. Ft. Polk, LA to Dugway Proving Grounds, UT. Our entire platoon chartered two busses. We left at around 11 am on a Saturday. We didn’t make our first stop until dinner time north of Dallas. Oh yay, a dry county. We were all out of booze by them. Stopped again, Amarillo, after midnight!!!! Still no booze.

Next stop, Moab, UT. 9 am on a Sunday morning, guess what? No booze. Finally made it to Dugway about 6 pm on Sunday night. Guess what had already closed? The shoppette.

Not to mention, I didn’t sleep for shite. I had to stretch my legs across the aisle to sleep. And heaven forbid motherfrickers step over me to go to the bathroom. No, they have to wake me up every time!

Dugway was pretty awesome though.

LSU had a bus caravan go to LSU/Vandy game. Drove straight there watched game and drove straight back. It was miserable.

Oh and Cecil Collins broke his leg that game

BTR to the Fla panhandle to visit my folks while in school and my car was broke. It stopped in the NO depot. Freaking nasty place.

Convinced my folks to rent a car for me to drive back.
