I tried to think thru this, and I just have never really spent time in a bus for more than shuttling around. So, my longest bus ride is probably to a region basketball game in high school that was maybe 2-3 hours away.
I am sure it involved a Shoney's breakfast bar back in those days, too.

Playing sports, church stuff, and also some college extracurricular's, I've taken some long bus trips:
BR - Miami
BR - DC
BR and NO - Nashville
BR - Gainsville
BR - Austin
NO - Louisville
Public bus: greyhound Atl - NO (not bad), Megabus NO - Houston (pretty decent), and several Megabus and Chinatown bus trips between Boston, NYC, and DC (good experiences).

When I was 19, I took a bus from Mexico City to Oaxaca. From memory, I believe it took 1 million hours.
By the way, those buses from NYC to Boston, Philadelphia etc are pretty good deals but I've never taken one. They're faster than flying since you catch them in the city and don't have to deal with getting back and forth to 2 airports, check ins etc. .

Middle school trip to NYC. Was like 14hrs or something.
Wasn’t bad as a 13year old with all your buddies. Couldn’t imagine doing that shite now.

Bus back Morgan City to Houston when I was doing seismic work in Atchafalya Basin. That bus took almost 8 1/2 hours and hardly was on I-10. Must have stopped at every rural post box and post office.
Last time on a bus that had nothing to do with airport transfer.
No bus thread is complete without Shirley Q Liquor booking rides for her 19 children. You tube audio link. LINK
Worth a listen if you never heard it.

Greyhound, Stuart,FL to BTR. 24 hrs +-. People watching at the bus station > airport. Boarded the bus then it stopped 30mins later at next town for lunch break. Could have just caught it there.

Columbus Ohio to Daytona Beach for spring break in 1987 and back.
It was a chartered bus and hotel package. Think there were 3 or 4 buses full of college kids left at same time.

Ville Platte to Glorieta N.M. for a winter youth trip. It was on a school bus and it was rough. Fond memories of friends I still have today. About 18 hrs there and 18 hrs back. The return trip seemed twice as long.

Ferrying a 172 from SC to LA.
What little bit of electronics it had failed, so had take a Greyhound from Atmore, AL to Slidell.
Trip was just as shitty as it sounds.
fricker stopped at every phone booth before we got to Slidell...
That was in '86.

About 55 years ago I would occasionally take the bus from Ft. Sam - San Antonio to Austin. Stopped in maybe 10-15 towns during that trip. Was a lot more fun to hitchhike, so I did that more times than not.
