Steen’s is the best. But you have to get the kind in the can. The bottled version isn’t as good.

There's a couple places one can get real maple syrup here locally that is very good.
So, is Mrs. Butterworth black? Looks like it to me. Is she next?

I grew up in North Louisiana, so my grandparents always had a bottle of Norris' Moonshine Syrup around. Used to put it on hot, buttered biscuits.

Lately, we've been making either strawberry or blueberry syrup. Not sure what recipe my wife uses, but it's basically fruit and sugar, heated and stirred until it's the right consistency. Pair with fresh whipped cream and it beats any store bought syrup product.
Never been picky. But cane syrup has always been too strong for pancakes for me.
Apparently maple syrup changed its grading system in the past few years. My preference used to be the dark amber Grade B, apparently now it's all Grade A.

For biscuits I like the full strength steens cane syrup. For pancakes and waffles, Steens has a blended syrup that is not as strong tasting and is a mix of cane syrup and corn syrup I really like this blended syrup as it has a flavor of cane syrup without the heavy sulfur taste.

Any real maple syrup. I like cane syrup and molasses on certain things.

Real Maple Syrup. (Mr. Turf doesn't waste it by pouring out several oz. more than needed.) Of the real maple syrups, we decided we liked B grade the best (it was the darkest with the strongest flavor), and now they've changed everything to A grade, with color names added.

Ok, so it is not just me that noticed that. I think the can version is a little thicker as well.
