My grandma cooked spaghetti and meatballs every Sunday all the way through my childhood. Man, what I would give to sit down with a plate of her food and talk with her just one more time

Pepper steak. She killed it with her pepper steak

My grandpa made ridiculously great seafood gumbo and rabbit stew. Man I miss those meals

Tourtière (French Canadian meat pie). No one makes that anymore. That and her chicken and dumplings with biscuits. YUM

My other grandma, who had 5 kids and never had a job, was somehow a pretty awful cook.

Luckily most of the times we went there, it was to go fishing and my grandpa would fry up the Perch we caught. That was delicious.

Grandma made the best cat head biscuits I've ever had to this day and her dumplings were damned good too... to be honest though most everything else was overcooked or salted to the point of being inedible.

Biscuits. She’d cut them with a small glass and they were bite sized.
Cornbread
Black eyed peas. We’d fight over the fatback too

I still fear my grandma’s pork chops. She always teased me for wanting ketchup.

Love you grandma Margaret (god rest her soul) but those chops were cooked to well done plus. I needed the ketchup to chew them
