That's a 6i or 7i for me depending on wind. Natural shot shape is a fade that moves about 10 yards off target line at that distance.

Full 7 and try to knock some clouds from the sky with the height I'd put on the shot. Drop it as close to center as possible if pin isn't tucked too tight to the fringe.

Easy 7, if I catch it clean it'll be on the money.

Oddly I don't get nervous playing golf. Speaking in front of a crowd, I get nervous. I'd rather hit a golf ball in front of a crowd than speak in front of one. Golf just doesn't get me nervous.
In the situation you described I would just hit a nice easy 7i. 165 is the perfect distance on a 72 degree no wind day for my 7.

7 or 8 depending on wind. Try to hit a high fade and land it soft.

Best, most honest answer

5 iron, full swing, too much hip, drop shoulder, grass digit goes further than ball

1st - this is not my go to shot/shot scenario
2nd - Go to shot would go something like this:
Par 4, 440 yds. Water starting at 150 all the way in along left side. Slight dog to the left, trees up right side to bunkers from 250-300.
1. I pull the thunderstick from the bag. The feel of the headcover doming of, makes my cock grow an inch or so in length. The wind on the tee box increases by 5 mph and the birds stop chirping/dogs stop barking, and people turn heads.
2. At address my breath steadies into a slow tempo, driving the shaft of my cock even longer. I close my feet 2 inches and begin my methodic takeaway.
3. At peak backswing my hips are cocked, and my 460cc head is pointing over my left shoulder at parallel straight at the bunkers. There is a short moment where a split second feels like an eternity.
4. I unwind releasing the fires of hell into a 140mph club head speed, ripping torqued out NOS injected follow through. At impact it sounds as if a shotgun was just fired on the tee box.
5. The ball jumps of the face and immediately begins a lighting journey towards those bunkers, but alas at 150 yds the flight begins to draw ever so slightly along the centerline of the fairway, rising in altitude an equal amount to distance gained.
6. It peaks out at 290 yards and begins it's fast descent, until it smashes into the fairway and rolls out to 350.
7. I step of the box fully erect, and hop in the cart and head for my 60 degree approach. The cart girl was rounding the corner by the tee as I hit, she's now carrying my child.
That is my go to shot.

Depends on where the trouble is. 165 Id probably go with a normal 7 iron maybe a holding fade.

Jealous of everyone that hits a 7 iron 165
I hit mine about 150
I hit mine about 150

Yea. Ideal conditions for my 7i is right around 150. I would love to hit as far as most of the other people I play with. I'm usually at a 2 club disadvantage.

Depends on pin placement, if it's on the left side I'll hit soft 6 since it will draw for me. Center or right, full 7.

Same here but I still manage to beat them more times than not
Don't even care

Would take more to make me nervous, but I would hit the shorter club and not hold anything back.
Nerves would be there on a tough driving hole that late in the round
