When did killing a living being become unaliving them....?
This is quickly becoming the norm on social media...and its stupid.

I don't see why we can't just say killing.

I thought that term was only associated with suicide? I could be wrong.

Youtube, and probably some other social media sites, discourage the use of that term and can take you out of the algorithm or possibly shadow ban your video.

Most social media will ban suicide or similar terms. It is annoying. Along with corn for porn or grape for rape

Bypass filters to get their message to the widest possible audience.

Same with the r*ape s**ter and as*ault shite.

They aren’t doing it to be politically correct (at least most of them) or any of that shite.

I am fairly certain it is meant to contravene censorship.

Social media sites ban videos that say certain words:

Rape
Killing
Suicide

Among others.

That is what is giving rise to this.

No..they said this here on Tigerdroppings about the terrorism in NOLA.
Really bugged me.
Seems so nonchalant a term for murder...

Just because you can’t use a dictionary properly, doesn’t mean the word isn’t real.

Social media has an algorithm that highlights and preemptively take down certain posts with certain words in it.

It's mostly driven by youtube, although they're usually demonetized, and not outright banned. There are tons of videos on youtube that have way worse language than those words. But if creating youtube content is your livelihood, demonetization is effectively the same as your video being banned so kind of splitting hairs with you.

* I'm only aware of this because sometimes creators feel particularly strong about a subject and will say something like, "frick this, this video will be demonetized, but I'm saying it anyways", and the video stays up.

A tech YouTuber I follow used the term “human malware” as a euphemism for Covid because YouTube would demonetize videos for so much as mentioning the word during the pandemic.

Until you brought this up, I've never heard of it. Then again, I'm not much on following social media.

Yes, I do communicate on a couple web sites such as this, but as far as Facebook, Twitter and whatever else is out there, you can keep it.

It’s so gay.

Every time someone says it I cringe.
