Put a birdhouse out and they will nest unit instead of the inconvenient places. We have had one nest every year for years.

Sometimes if you startle them they will fly into your house. This usually happens around 10:00 PM and the you spend the next 45 minutes to an hour trying to shoo it out.

If it's at night, locate it and turn off every light. Then you can use a flashlight kind of in a manual strobe manner to flash it at him so you can get closer. Eventually you can get close enough to grab it with your hand. Works for all birds

Carolina wrens will nest anywhere under your carport. We had one make a nest inside a motorcycle helmet. The face shield ended up being a fancy skylight.
