Behind some random building in the Cotton District. Also one of the best stories I have.

I slept on the street in Florence, Italy when I could not find an open hostel.

I worked as the athletic trainer for 2 years with a bankrupt Independent baseball organization. So pretty much anywhere we stayed in Texas was miserable. The worst was in Larado. I could have thrown a rock into the Rio Grande and it was a dump. That's what I think hell is like.

Dozens of nights on the ground (or on a cot/in a vehicle) in Fort Polk or Fort Hood.

1. Overbooked flight from DC to Rome. 14 hrs, I didn't move from a sitting position, surrounded by greasy euro trash. I literally spent half the flight evaluating how some of these people could even afford a flight like this. You woulda thought we were on a charter bus in Honduras, not a transatlantic flight between some very important cities of the world.
2. In the trailer part of an 18 wheeler, Friday night before the lsu Bama game in Tuscaloosa 2011. Although we were beyond shitfaced and were only in there for a few hours. It was freezing cold and we had nothing but the clothes we went out in. We spooned for warmth. We looked so bad the next morning that one of the restaurants inside Bryant Denny let us come in there at like 5:30 am even though they weren't gonna open for another 6 hours. We slept on their tables and booths for a while. Also was a great fricking night now that I look back on it

Camping out down the river. Someone's kids pissed all in the tent and it smelled horrible but the gnats were worse.

So no one has spent a night at the Staring Motel? Not saying I have, just wanted to hear a story.

1. Mental hospital I was put in after having a nervous breakdown shortly before my grandmother died.
2. Abandoned trailer in the middle of nowhere on Christmas Eve. I was alone with no power, no water, and no food. The only source of light was a small kerosene heater which ran out of fuel in the middle of the night. Not sure the exact temp but there was a layer of ice in a bucket outside that had some old rainwater in it.
