Less stunning but still neat, Athletico Madrid used to (moved to a new stadium a couple years ago) play in a stadium with an active road running through it.

Giants Stadium.. Just driving along and all of a sudden it was there.. A WTF moment kind of like seeing the back of the stadium in Little Rock right off the highway...Is it War Memorial?

There’s a cemetery across the street from Bryant Denny. I thought that was pretty odd.
My great grandparents and several great aunts/uncles are buried there.

Churchill Downs is right in the middle of a pretty crappy urban neighborhood in Louisville. I always thought it would be in a real wealthy area surrounded by horse farms and estates. But the immediate surroundings is NOT good

This was cool when it happened. A basketball court on an aircraft carrier.

It's still bizarre to me that Hard Rock stadium is where it is. In a city that has as many downtown hotel rooms as New Orleans (if not more) and a city that hosts as many Super Bowls and other huge events, it's just mind-blowing that the stadium is in the middle of a neighborhood over 40 minutes away.
Not to mention the fact that there is absolutely nothing around the stadium. It's just a giant-arse parking lot and then a lot of houses. I think there's a Sonic nearby but that's it. Surely there is a better place for a stadium in Miami and yet they insist on keeping it.

You should go to Preakness

It makes the Churchill Downs area look like Upper East Side

The stadium at Edinburgh Castle in Scotland is pretty sweet:

Back in 2009, my son's HS football team played a school whose football field was bordered by the county jail on one endzone and a cemetery on the other endzone.

All of UofL stadiums are right there as well.

Flying in Iraq and over the middle of nowhere and then seen this green turf soccer feild with stands around it. It stuck out and there was virtually nothing around.
