That's about when a guy gives up foolish material pursuits and starts to understand himself.
I've found that trivial things don't really upset me anymore. I'm comfortable in my own skin and don't really care much about what other people think of me. It's quite liberating

Actually, I saw a shift in perspective around my mid '30s to early '40s. Before that, you are so damn horny all of the time that you do a whole lot of stupid shite.

I'm not an atheist neck beard but that is the exact opposite of being wise.

A simple once over of social media and political discourse tells me that wise men are quite atypical.

quote:This guy gets it. If you aren't at least 27, you haven't even begun to understand life. If you aren't past 30, you don't know much. Just an absolute fact we all have to learn. This doesn't mean people over any age necessarily have a clue.
It begins around 27.
At 27 you should realize that you are stupid.
You realize everything you spewed out About life prior to 27 was stupid as frick. From that point wisdom begins. Very very slowly.

I didn’t wake up until the birth of my child. I was 35 at the time. It was either that experience or age, but I am thoroughly convinced that if I didn’t have a kid I would still be doing way more dumb shite.

Some men live their whole lives and never get to know the feeling.
I'd say whenever you learn to put the needs of others over your own is when you've officially taken your first step in the journey.
