A guy in a fishing boat survived it.

Lituya Bay? I've seen some programs about that. That boat surviving is just incredible.

The ones that are harder to predict well in advance. Tornadoes, and maybe even tsunamis.

Tornadoes are scary if you are in the line of one. They are physically smaller though, but also a little less predictable.

Otherwise I am going hurricanes followed by floods.

Hurricanes have days of lead time and the direct threat of injury or death can be reduced to zero by evacuating. Outside of a legitimate flash flood, flooding is similar. If it is river flooding you have time to leave.

Tornadoes and earthquakes are the most unpredictable and offer the least opportunity to actually remove yourself from the path of danger.

All are scary if you are in the center of it, however a lot has to do with how much warning you have. With blizzards and hurricanes, you should have a least a couple of days to either prepare or get the hell out of dodge so that makes them the least scary. In the middle are volcanoes, a tsunamis, and wildfires. Unless you are right there, you should have a least a few hours to get away. Next would be landslides and tornadoes, where you would only have minutes at best to prepare. Earthquakes....since they happen at a moments notice, I guess that could make them the most scary.

Tornado survivor here. Caused 3 trees to land on my home while we were inside. We had all crowded in 1 bedroom and got lucky the trees fell on other parts of the house. Then had to crawl out and run through the rain/storm to find shelter because the gas line was leaking and we could smell it. Was hell on earth. We watch the weather like a hawk now to be ready in advance. Hide in neighbors barn till it blew over.

Our dogs are still petrified at the hint of a storm to this day.

The only people that gave us actual help were the local Methodist church. Everyone else just did the "if you need anything let me know" line. Church showed up with hot meals and gift cards to buy a change of clothes.

Offering help and giving help are two different things. Nobody wants to ask for help and feel like a burden.

This. I can reconcile a tornado. They don't just magically appear outta thin air on a sunny day. But when the earth itself starts collapsing under your feet.

Shits wild, man.

Floods.

Not tsunami like. I’m talking hurricane or 2016. Sitting there watching the water slowly rise closer and closer to your home and knowing there ain’t shite you can do about it. And it takes it’s dear sweet time too.

Since it hasn’t been mentioned, I’ll add an extinction level asteroid strike. Worse because we could probably see it coming and not be able to stop it.
