They certainly are.

I know both a cardiologist and an attorney that both wear cowboy boots every day to work in South Carolina so nowhere near TX. It strikes me as odd but I haven't had cowboy boots on since I was about 7.
The one that always kills me is the older guy wearing a pair with shorts, often sans shirt. It is always a seriously broken-in square-toed pair made out of light tan suede.

Biden's coming for our knuckles. Unfortunately I lost mine in a tragic hang gliding accident.

I wore them to work every day as a teacher, nothing more comfortable to me than a pair of Tony LLamas

To each their own. If I had my way, I'd wear Teva's every day of my life. They just fit my feet really well.

I’m far from some super country guy but I wear square toes every day. I feel like a child when I wear tennis shoes

Jeans with sneakers and khakis with loafers. Boots are trashy.

I don’t have a pair of dress ones but I think those look nice when people have theirs on at work or outside of work in a more formal setting.
I get exactly what you are talking about though.
I have a square toe work pair that I had to get for one summer internship. I will keep them forever since I can use them to work in the yard or whenever I have the need to use them.

Tennis shoes are the type of shoes I wear the least too. Only when exercising or doing some other physical activity.
I'm all over the place otherwise. I wear boat shoes, lace up dress shoes, slip on dress shoes, western boots, lace up boots.

Square toes are a terrible look unless youre an actual ranch hand

I just wear hiking shoes, mid rise. Got some Columbias I bought a couple years ago at Sportsmans Warehouse that are amazing. Waterproof, tougher than hell...
I don't mind tennis shoes but don't own a pair today.

I've ridden a few times. Plan to run a horse or two with some cows one day.

Is the hat obligatory?
I have one, but rarely wear it. Not really my thing. I prefer a ball cap.

Never did I ever think I would see the word "Poodoo" used on TD.
Can't even get away from Kaplan on the damn internet. This is why I can't bring my wife (no pics) anywhere, because she somehow runs into someone she knows from that small arse town...
