Name a place that’s so remote you probably don’t get service, there’s no people for at least one hundred miles and it’s wide open nothing.

Is there anywhere outside of the Dakotas/Idaho with no population in a 100 mile radius?

Basile, LA has to be up there.

ETA: there might be a few people there but I’m still submitting it.

I was thinking that area between I-20 and the Arkansas line is very isolated. Looks like no mans land for real

There was a place that just started getting telephone service about 10 years ago.

Even cellphone service was sketchy unless you were on some sort of levee.

Want to say it was just North of Ellick.

nbc news article from 2005

Mink, La

Yea I don’t think the place we’re thinking of will be located south of Alexandria. In fact, it probably won’t be near any type of interstate or major highway

You planning on burying someone? ETA, I am also interested. I like going to places like that often. BBRSP is the best I have found so far, and you are further than 100 miles form another human being; but no service.

Interesting side note, I heard a podcast about a company that paid some dude to move out in the middle of nowhere so he could essentially open his own town and be the only voter.

The company then "suggested" that he create different motions and vote in certain regulations that were friendly to the company.

Seemed shady. Let me see if I can find it.
