Delphi is a small town (2,000 people) and its county and most of the adjacent counties are small. Not really the case that the killer could disappear into the crowd.

He had to have been familiar with the trail, which strongly suggests a local.

I would say chances are that suspect has been identified, but there is no prior criminal history and very little way for the cops to get a search warrant so it may be a dead end.

Makes you wonder how many sick people are out there that are just looking for an opportunity. It's scary stuff. Never let your young kids go off alone.

One pretty crazy case I saw was these lads thats family was pig farmers. When their dad quit they tried it out and sucked at it. Sold some land or some such (that made them a lot of money, i've forgotten). They started having parties, girls started missing. Turns out one of the lads killed nearly 50 girls. He would butcher them, turn their remains into food, feed it to people, give it away,etc. Sometimes turn their remains into some processing plant that would render them into products people would use. This was in Canada somewhere.

Another crazy one was some guy around the Hoover Dam that would drug girls and horrificly sexually abuse them in his sex trailer thing for days on end and then kill them, sometimes release them.

Then there is the dutroux, epstein, mk stuff.
