The SO and I are having to change our honeymoon this summer. It was supposed to be a flight to Niagara Falls and then into Canada.
Now it’s looking like we are going to drive from here (South Texas) to Utah and Colorado for National parks. Maybe head north to Wyoming or Montana.

New Orleans to Tuscon, AZ
1,408 miles
At the last minute I had to get there in a couple days. Last minute flight was $1,100 round trip only to check the day before and it fell to $400.
New Orleans to Keystone, CO
1,372 miles
Took this trip every other year for Mardi Gras week for about a dozen years.

In 1984 when I was 11, my parents, older brother, and I took a two week road trip, visiting sites and relatives. We started in Birmingham, went through GA, SC, NC, VA, DC, MD, DE, PA, NY, OH, MI, IN, KY, TN, and back to AL. It was a trip I will always remember fondly the rest of my life.
It's crazy too, I hear songs from popular ones when I was on the trip these days and it takes me right back to the trip like a time warp, as if it was in the moment and I literally get lost in memories. Such care free summer days, wish I could get those times back for a moment...lost most all those relatives we visited since, including my Mom BUT what a fun time to keep in my heart!

I've driven from ABQ to Memphis in one day.
Once on I-40 in ABQ at 9a, I made a total of two turns before I was back in my neighborhood at 11p that night.

1. New Orleans to San Francisco, then SF to Los Angeles, then LA to NOLA with a detour off I-10 through Austin, TX.
2. Round trip Baton Rouge to Tempe, AZ for an LSU football game.
3. Milford, CT to Baton Rouge.
Someone else can take the wheel on future trips.

Los Angeles to Newport Rhode Island, but I was a kid so I was not driving. We were moving from Hawaii to Rhode Island and had to transport two horses across country

Pensacola to Seattle, via South Dakota. Did Pensacola to San Francisco once, too. Both as a teenager. You know you've been on a long road trip when you have to get an oil change in the middle of it

Lawrenceburg, TN > NOLA > San Antonio > Junction, TX > Tucson > L.A. > Vegas > Grand Canyon > Lawrenceburg, TN.
Back in college. 4 dudes in a minivan over 5 days, spent night in Tucson, Los Angeles, and Vegas. We took 4-hour shifts driving. 4700 miles total.
Once in a lifetime trip with my buddies, but never ever again.
