The donut shop in Natchez

I grew up within walking distance of this place. I’ve never had a donut anywhere that comes close.

They also used to have tamales, they don’t anymore, but god damn they were amazing. Everyone talks about fat mamas. Their food sucks. Those tamales come from Sysco.

Donut Shop in Natchez, no other donut in the world is like that. I've tried tons but none even close. Resembles a Shipley's but worlds apart.

Mary Lee is just like every other vietnamese/chinese donut shop in any town.

Harsh on the Fat Mama's, but that Margarita and Fire Ice pickle combo make up for it.

I grew up eating Taster Donuts, but nothing compares to a hot glazed donut from Southern Maid in Shreveport. But you have to eat one when it's piping hot.

Krispy kreme is the only donut still good after it's gone cold.

Alot of these guys are yanking and yammering over Louisiana donut shops. I've had donuts from alot of these places and compared to Krispy kreme, they're like eating sugared frickin' whitebread.

These coonasses wouldn't know a good donut if it gave them frickin' diabetes.

Anyway, that Government street location was a special place.

Ridge Run In in Oak Ridge had fantastic doughnuts and hamburgers etc back in the 80s and 90s. Those ladies could cook!

From my childhood:

Yep. Tastee and McKenzie were 2 of the more popular places to get donuts when I was a kid.

In my old neighborhood in the Lower 9th Ward there was a bakery called Klotzbach's (sp?) that made a pastry called a "Sinker" and it was one of my favorite treats. That damn thing must have weighed about 6 oz. and was covered with a hard chocolate icing. Eat one of them with a glass of milk and you were anchored down.
