Actually, that's in my top 5. Well, the proliferation of technology as a whole which has proven to easily distract/ infiltrate us and weaponize big business/government against society.

The point of the two party system is supposed to be compromise. As they say, a compromise is when both sides cone to agreement and leave the table feeling like they didn't get everything they wanted.
Not to mention, both parties benefit from each other. A lot of money is piped into each party because people don't want the other side to win.
A lot of politicians are the party they are because that's what they have to be to get elected.
Not to mention, if the country was run by the platform of one party, that would be isolating half of the people in the country... Which is why balance is needed.
