In general, EI/PE necessity is discipline/function specific. A large majority of engineering graduates don't need it at all. Alma mater is not really important within a geographic region, especially with some experience. Likewise, GPA/internships only matter for initial employment.
Here's some data from the AIChE salary survey specific to ChemEs.

Those are median salaries including first year employees and 30 year workers. You said you max out at 115-130. 30 year is skewing much higher, first years are probably in the 80-90k range for chemE. And again, that is an engineer actually staying in an engineering role.

And as pointed out, those are medians.
79% of industry specific median salaries exceed your range.
83% of function specific median salaries exceed your range.
In all likelihood those distributions are right-skewed, as they are for the regional distributions, and the mean is higher.
