Why? They lost. They should buy it back like the Eastern Band if they want to own it again.

The American bald eagle became the unofficial bird of the USA in 1782, the same year the national seal depicting images of the species was adopted. At the time, the American bald eagle represented the only eagle native to the North American continent. It was chosen for its appearance of strength, freedom, and longevity after intense debate that lasted several years.
Founding father Benjamin Franklin wanted the turkey as the national bird of the USA. He considered the bald eagle lazy because it took food other birds caught, saying it represented poor moral character. Franklin also believed the bald eagle lacked courage because it often suffered attacks by smaller birds. The turkey was more respectable and exhibited courage, Franklin believed. It also tasted better when fried.

frick drilling in wilderness areas. This is the land of the free. The moment we let oil companies drill for oil is the moment we lose our freedom to roam.
I see your point.
but if the regulations on drilling (environmentally speaking) are extremely strick, what harm does a small hole in the ground really do? assuming the area is returned to it's natural self post drilling?
my family has land that had 4 rigs on it. I could tell you the 1 acre area each rig was in and I promise you you would not find one spec of evidence there was a rig there. and those rigs were drilled 50 years ago, way before enviornmental laws were in place

I saw one of those beautiful birds circling 200 yards from my house. It was a beautiful sight.

I bet everyone can agree on lots of things that need protection. What we disagree on is how to do it
